Ombudsman offices in QC closed during Aug. 6-20 ECQ

The Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) in Quezon City will be physically closed from Aug. 6 to 20 due to the declaration of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR).

In an announcement, the OMB said:

"In view of the declaration of the Inter-Agency Task Force on COVID-19 placing the National Capital Region under ECQ from Aug. 6 to 20, all OMB offices in Quezon City will be physically closed during this period, and shall adopt the work-from-home arrangement permissible under the civil service rules and the attendance of OMB prosecutors in virtual court hearings.

"Likewise, the regular period for the filing of pleadings, motions, affidavits, and other relevant documents before the Office of the Ombudsman, Quezon City shall be deemed interrupted and the period of filing such shall begin to run on Sept. 1,”

At the same time, the OMB said that those who are applying for clearances may do so online through www.ombudsman.gov.ph.
