The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) will not accept walk-in submission of applications for corrections officers starting Aug. 6 when the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) is enforced in the National Capital Region (NCR).
The announcement issued by Corrections Technical CSupt. John Paul O. Santos, acting director of the BuCor’s Directorate for Administration, states:
“In anticipation of the forthcoming escalation of the National Capital Region (NCR) to the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) classification on 06 August 2021 due to the threat of the Delta variant of the COVID-19, all BuCor applicants are hereby informed that the BuCor Human Resources Division shall only accept application folders through registered couriers upon effectivity of the new quarantine classification.
“To minimize the risks, walk-ins shall not be allowed, and resumption of the same shall be announced upon further notice,”
Last March, BuCor started accepting applications for the 2021 batch of correction officers.
It recruited almost 800 corrections officers for batch 2020 and deployed them in its Operating Prison and Penal Farms (OPPFs) in the country.
These OPPFs are the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, the Davao Prison and Penal Farm (DPPF), Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City, Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro, Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IWPPF) in Puerto Princesa City, Leyte Regional Prison (LRP), and the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Zamboanga City.
