Two more Filipino boxers brought honor to the country with Nesty Petecio claiming the silver in the women’s featherweight division, and Carlo Paalam assuring himself of at least a bronze medal in the flyweight class in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. And there could be another medal for the Philippines as E. J. Obiena sees action in the finals of the pole vault event, as of this posting.

The government announced another milestone in the fight against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), reporting the full vaccination of 12.87 percent of the country’s 70-million target population. It is also expected 22.7 million doses of vaccines to arrive this month.

Expect more rainy days for the rest of the week as the southwest monsoon, or the “habagat”, continues to prevail over Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon.
