DSWD: More than 282K family food packs ready for distribution


More than 282,000 family food packs (FFPs) have been readied for distribution to the local government units (LGUs) that are in need of relief augmentation support, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Monday, August 2.

The DSWD made this report, four days before Metro Manila is set to be placed under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) as a precautionary measure against the more transmissible Delta variant of COVID-19 virus.

The DSWD’s Disaster Response Operations Monitoring and Information Center (DROMIC) reported that as of August, 6 p.m., a total of 282,567 FFPs worth P153.36 million were available for distribution.

The report showed that more than P455.74 million worth of non-food items (NFIs) and more than P192.7 million worth of other food items were also readied as part of the DSWD’s stockpiles.

The DSWD’s total standby funds amounted to P805.49 million. Of this, P756.49 million has been earmarked as quick response fund (QRF) at the DSWD Central Office and P48.69 million at the Field Offices.

The DSWD has standby funds and available stockpiles amounting to more than P1.6 billion.
