The city government of Navotas announced on Monday that two areas have been locked down due to a surge in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases.
Barangay Tanza 1 and Tanza 2 will be placed under lockdown from Monday midnight (August 2) until 5 a.m. on August 16.
“Kamakailan lang, nagsagawa ng community testing sa lugar at nakita na sa 174 na resulta ng swab tests mula sa Red Cross, 44 o nasa 25% ang nagpositibo,” Mayor Toby Tiangco said in a facebook post.
As of Sunday (August 1), Barangay Tanza 1 has 53 active COVID-19 cases and Barangay Tanza 2 has 37 active cases.
The city mayor has yet to announce other information regarding the lockdown.
