Chery Tiggo seeks to ride the crest of its emphatic victory over pre-season favorite Creamline as it clashes with a dangerous PetroGazz Saturday in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference on Sunday, August 1 at the PCV Socio-Civic & Cultural Center in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.
Match is at 1 p.m. with the Crossovers seeking to claim its fourth win against two losses to keep their place inside the Magic 4.
Chery Tiggo is coming off a morale-boosting 25-18, 25-23, 23-25, 25-20 over Creamline when they face PetroGazz, and a victory for the Crossovers would improve them for solo third place.
The Crossovers are expected to bank anew on Jaja Santiago, Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Maika Ortiz, who combined for 48 points against the Cool Smashers.
“Jaja, Dindin and Maika were able to lead the team and that’s what we’re really hoping for,” said Chery Tiggo coach Aaron Velez.
Velez also mentioned not dwelling on negativity.
“Like I said, we just have to go back to work. We still have a lot of rust that we have to clean up and then we have to stay connected and then remove all the negative thoughts or negative things that we have to get rid of,” said Velez.
In the other games, Sta. Lucia (3-3) clashes with Bali Pure (2-3) at 4 p.m. and Perlas (1-3) facing off with PLDT (0-6) at 7 p.m.
