Eumir Marcial has booked a spot in the semifinal round after beating Arman Darchinyan of Armenia with a knockout victory in their quarterfinal match in the men’s middleweight division of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics at the Kokugikan Arena Sunday, August 1.

Marcial landed a solid right to the head that floored Darchinyan for a quick ending of what was believed to be a critical bout.

The 23-year-old Marcial, who earned a bye in the Round of 32, made it to the quarterfinal round with a Referee Stopped Contest (RSF) also in the first round against Algerian Younes Nemouchi.

Marcial will next fight Oleksandr Khyzhniak of Ukraine on August 5, a 4-1 winner against Euri Cedeno Martinez in their quarterfinal match.
