The Provincial Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 intensified the contact tracing and strengthened the implementation of the Prevent-Detect-Isolate-Treat-Reintegrate (PDITR) Strategy after three cases of the Delta variant have been recorded in the province of Bulacan.

Governor Daniel R. Fernando confirmed that three cases of COVID Delta variant have been detected in Bulacan, one in San Ildefonso, one in Santa Maria, and the latest in Plaridel town, reportedly in Barangay Tabang.

According to the governor, the asymptomatic case in San Ildefonso has already recovered, while those in Santa Maria and in Plaridel are still undergoing quarantine.

He encouraged the Bulakenyos to continuously follow the standard health protocols such as wearing of face masks and face shields, practicing social distancing, and frequent washing of hands as those are proven effective ways to minimize the risks of getting any variant of the virus.

Mayor Tessie Vistan on Saturday also called an emergency meeting with the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases in the town following the sudden increase of COVID-19 cases in Plaridel.

Vistan strictly ordered the family members and other close contacts of the patient who tested positive for the COVID Delta variant to not leave their houses.

The Plaridel police and village officials were also ordered to go around and remind the public on the minimum health protocols.
