A total of 595 inmates at the Quezon City Jail Female Dormitory received last July 29 their first dose of vaccine against the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said.
In a statement, the BJMP said that as of June 30, 2021, about 10,500 of its personnel and more than 1,760 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) have received vaccinations against COVID-19.
Among its facilities, the BJMP said that the Bocaue Municipal jail is “the first fully COVID-19 vaccinated facility in the country.”
“All 148 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) currently detained at Bocaue Municipal Jail and 19 BJMP personnel are now fully COVID-19 vaccinated,” it said.
It also said that among the PDLs vaccinated at the Bocaue Municipal Jail were two senior citizens and 10 with comorbidities.
