Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) concluded its 16th Isuzu Service Skills Olympics (ISSO) through a virtual awards ceremony last June 11, 2021. ISSO tests the knowledge and skills of service technicians, service advisors, and parts staff coming from Isuzu dealerships nationwide.

Held virtually for the first time, the local contest comprises of three categories that are joined by different aftersales team members. Each one has equivalent weighted points that are used to determine the Dealer Grand Champion.

“It is very unfortunate that we cannot do our usual ISSO face to face. However, this year, we strive for excellence as we intend to continue to improve the technical skills capabilities of all aftersales staff and personnel,” said Wataru Miyamoto, IPC’s Vice President for Aftersales.

IPC President Hajime Koso was also in attendance and congratulated the group not just for a successful ISSO run but also for the back-to-back achievement of a Triple Star Rating in the annual aftersales performance evaluation of IML.

“Only 5 out of 33 countries worldwide received the esteemed rating. Being 1 of the 5 to receive the award proved that all the aftersales activities of the Philippines are of high caliber and top of the class in Isuzu network’s standard around the world. This will not be made possible without the efforts and cooperation of our dealers,” he said.

This year’s individual honors went to the following individuals. In the Parts Staff category: John Paulo Fabian of Isuzu Pangasinan (Champion); Jenalyn Batis of Isuzu Bulacan (First Runner-up); Alex Lardizabal of Isuzu Alabang (Second Runner-up).

In the Service Advisor category: Allan Paul Castillo of Isuzu Cabanatuan (Champion); John Miguel Alacha of Isuzu Butuan (First Runner-up); Jonel Barrientos of Isuzu Iloilo (Second Runner up).
