Megaworld rewards Hidilyn with P14-M condo

Megaworld Corporation, the diversified property conglomerate of tycoon Dr. Andrew L. Tan, announced that it is giving a residential condominium unit worth P14 million to Filipino Olympic Gold Medalist Hidilyn Diaz.

In a statement, the firm said the condominium unit in Megaworld’s Eastwood township in Quezon City is a gift to the weightlifter following her historic win that gave the Philippines its first-ever Olympic gold medal.

“This epic moment is about 97 years in the making, and this is our way of saying thanks to Hidilyn for making us all proud,” said Megaworld Chief Strategy Officer Kevin L. Tan.

He added that, “We believe that it’s just right to give our first-ever Olympic gold medalist a home in our first-ever township, Eastwood City, where she can enjoy the township lifestyle with her family and loved ones.”

Appearing in her fourth consecutive Olympics, the 30-year-old Diaz set an Olympic weightlifting record in the women’s 55-kilogram event by lifting a total of 224 kilograms.

With the win, she is currently the most decorated Filipino Olympian in history with two recognitions under her name after previously winning a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
