PNP eyes all personnel inoculated with COVID vaccine by August

TACLOBAN CITY – Barring any delays, the Philippine National Police is eyeing to have all its personnel inoculated with the COVID-19 vaccine by August.

This was disclosed by PNP chief Police Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar during his visit here for the launching of Project GABAY and the Oathtaking of Regional Advocacy Support Groups and Force Multipliers Thursday, July 22.

"Ineexpect natin itong buwan na ito hanggang Agosto, kagaya ng sinabi ng aton Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año na lahat ng pulis ay mabakunahan na," he shared.

Eleazar said about 32 to 33 percent or one-third of the 220,000-strong police force have been vaccinated with the first dose, and 12 percent for the second dose.

Over 93 percent have already signified their willingness to be inoculated with the vaccine."Hayaan na muna natin ang seven percent. Maeengganyo natin 'yan for whatever reason," he said.

Eleazar said they will start the vaccination rollout through their vaccination team on standby once they receive their allocation.

The bulk of their vaccine allocation is China-made Sinovac while they have also received 10,000 doses of Sputnik V.
