“We administered 16 million doses throughout the country. Kung maaalala nyo, nung Monday, ka-announce pa lang ni Spox [Harry] Roque na nag-15 million tayo, pero (If you remember, on Monday, Spox Harry Roque just announced that we administered 15 million doses but) as of today, just three days after, we already hit 16 million doses,” Dizon said during the ceremonial vaccination of Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines in Pasig.

“Pero hindi tayo titigil dyan kailangan tuloy-tuloy pa yun. Kahapon 350,000 doses tayo may bagyo pa yun (But we won’t stop there, we need to continue that. Yesterday, we administered 350,000 doses even when there’s a typhoon),” Dizon continued.

The Philippines targets to administer 500,000 doses a day.

He added that the National Region has surpassed the daily vaccination target of 120,000 with around 130,000 to 150,000 vaccinations daily.

A total of 5,231,469 individuals have completed their doses, while 10,722,442 have received their first shot.

The figure is equivalent to 7.3 percent of individuals covered by the country’s inoculation program and over four percent of the Philippines’ population.
