DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan — a 30-year-old area manager of a well-known pawnshop in the country was allegedly shot by still unidenfitied gunmen in Barangay Coliling, San Carlos City, Wednesday afternoon.
Initial investigation from the San Carlos City Police reveal victim Celestino Layacan, a resident of San Pedro-Taloy, San Carlos City, was on board his scooter, when suspects on board a Kawasaki Rouser Motorcycle approached the victim and shot him multiple times. They immediately ran off to an uknown direction.
Layacan, who was shot in his hips and legs, was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in the same city, where he is undergoing treatment.
Upon receipt of the report, police from San Carlos City and neighboring towns are currently conducting dragnet operations for possible apprehension of the suspects.
Police are still unsure of the motive behind the incident, as the victim is still undergoing treatment in the hospital’s emergency room as of writing.
