Mom-of-three Lara Quigaman rushed to the hospital, learns that it's okay to take it easy

Fresh from their family trip to Cebu, little did mom-of-three Lara Quigaman realize that she was tired from their family vacation.

She posted on her Instagram stories a series of photos and how it happened. She only felt really tired when they got home, "Pati likod ko sobrang sakit. May tatlong bata pang sobrang clingy at medyo di ko na kinaya (Even my back ached, and I have three kids who were so clingy that I couldn't take it anymore)."

She admitted to going through a meltdown, "Naiyak ako at sabi ko sa sarili ko, gusto ko lang muna mag-isa. Magpahinga. Gusto ko ng tahimik (I wanted to cry and I told myself that I wanted to be alone, to rest. I wanted a quiet place)." A little later, she started have fever and chills, and after two days, she was brought to the hospital. She was isolated until she received a negative COVID-19 test result.

"I felt guilty for wanting to rest. I got what I wished for, but it was horrible, I was in pain and shivering and alone. But God knew I needed to rest. He reminded me that my children will survive without me. That I also need to take care of myself. I spent three night in the hospital. The first two nights were horrible because I still had high fever, pain, and chills."

"Nakapag-selfie na ako dito kasi pinayagan na ako umuwi ng doctor. (I took a selfie this time because the doctor allowed me to go home already). Acute pyelonephritis. I was given antibiotics via IV. Now getting better. Thank you, Jesus," she posted. According to aafp.org, acute pyelonephritis is an infection of the renal pelvis and kidneys that results to high fever.

Her next story was a shot of her three kids sleeping beside her. "Okay na ako (I'm okay now). Will remember to rest and take it easy. And to ask for and accept HELP. Thankful for all the support my family and friends have shown me the past few days."

She ends this series by reminding her followers, "If you're reading this, rest, too when you need to. The world can and will go on while we rest. God holds everything in His hands."
