Manila releases more than P100-M cash aid for seniors, students, retired teachers


Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso signed the release of more than P100 million cash assistance for senior citizens, senior high schools students, and retired teachers in the city on Wednesday.

In his regular live update on Facebook, Domagoso announced that P95,344,000 will be distributed to 35,788 senior citizens of District 1.

Each senior citizen will receive a total of P3,000, covering the January to June 2021 period.

Domagoso also signed the release of P6,000,000 cash assistance for 2,000 retired teachers of Manila’s city schools.

The retired teachers will receive a P3,000 old age sustenance allowance (OASA) from the city for the months of January to June 2021.

For 807 Senior High School students of Universidad de Manila, the city of Manila allotted P1,614,000 cash assistance.

The P2,000 worth of allowance to be given to students covers the months of April, May, June, and July 2021.
