Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano is eyeing the immediate completion of the vaccination of those belonging to the A2 and A3 priority groups to protect them from the looming threat of the Delta variant of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Rubiano said the city will offer various incentives to encourage residents to get vaccinated.
During the virtual town hall meeting held on Tuesday, July 20, Rubiano discussed the threats posed by the Delta variant with representatives from various barangays and city hall department heads.
She also announced that prizes await all senior citizens who will be fully vaccinated.
She said the city government will organize a raffle draw where the names of fully vaccinated senior citizens will be entered.
The mayor also said that based on the recommendations of Department of Health (DOH) Regional Director Dr. Anna Ong-Lim, a separate raffle will also be held for barangays that have successfully inoculated 100 percent of their senior citizens and those with comorbidities.
