With President Duterte taking the reins as party chairman, he was present when the PDP-Laban national assembly ousted Senator Manny Pacquiao as acting president, and installed Alfonso Cusi in his stead.

Nearly overshadowed by the political squabble within the ruling party was the arrival of more than 1.6 million doses of the Johnson and Johnson (J&J) coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine Saturday afternoon, a day that also saw the arrival of 1.5 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine.
