2 toddlers among 23 active COVID-19 cases in Angono


Angono, Rizal has recorded 23 active cases of COVID-19, including two one-year-old kids, as of July 16.

Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon, in her post on Facebook revealed that a one-year-old boy, a resident of Barangay Kalayaan, is one of the newest cases in Angono.

The boy, tagged as Angono Patient No. 2288, is a close contact of a confirmed case in Barangay Kalayaan. He has been showing mild symptoms and under home quarantine as of July 16.

On July 15, the municipal government first recorded its youngest COVID-19 patient in the person of a one-year-old girl who is a resident of Barangay Sto. Niño. The girl, who is Patient No. 2285, has mild symptoms and was confined in a hospital outside Angono.

As of July 16, Angono has 2,288 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 2,172 of which recovered while 93 died.

On July 15, Vice Mayor Gerardo Calderon, made an appeal to President Duterte via Facebook Live to increase the vaccine allocation for Angono.

The local government is only administering the second dose of the vaccine to residents due to the absence of vaccine supply..

As of July 13, the town has vaccinated 8,877 individuals, 6,369 of them received the first dose and 2,508 completed the two doses.

There are still more than 13,000 individuals in the waiting list of the town’s vaccination program.

The town has a population of around 120,000.
