Filipino named solicitor of Senior Courts of England and Wales

Another Filipino shined overseas, this time in the United Kingdom.

Atty. Lee Marvin Balauro Tolentino has been admitted as a solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales effective Jan. 1, 2021.

He complied with the Solicitors Regulation Authority Authorization of Individuals Regulations to earn the position.

With roots from Bai, Lagayan, Abra, Tolentino, the first ever Filipino to the post, is also the first Filipino Bar topnotcher, earning fifth place in the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE), London, United Kingdom (UK) last Dec. 22.

The 27-year-old earned his Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with Second Class Honors (Upper Division) from University of Surrey, finishing at the top of his class as summa cum laude in July 7, 2015.

His family cited his achievement, saying it is a “success that all of us Filipinos here and abroad can surely be proud about and without a doubt, a huge honor for our country.”
