K-pop boy band NCT 127 announced they will be making their comeback with a new album to be released in September.
NCT 127 revealed this during their “Beyond Live-NCT 127 Online Fanmeeting Office: Foundation Day” held on July 7 to celebrate their fifth anniversary since debuting in July 2016.
“We will continue to work hard for our comeback in September. Till then, stay healthy and hang in there,” said Taeyong.
The upcoming NCT 127 release is a yet titled full-length album, which will be their third studio album after releasing “NCT #127: Neo Zone” in March 2020.
By end of 2020, “NCT #127: Neo Zone” sold 463,822 copies and placed 13th among the best-selling albums in Korea, according to Hanteo Chart. The repackaged version, “NCT #127 Neo Zone: The Final Round”, released in May 2020, sold 351,530 copies by year end and grabbed 21st place.
“NCT #127: Neo Zone” placed sixth in the top 10 physical album sales in the US in 2020, according to MRC Data, formerly Nielsen Music.
MRC Data released the “Year-End Report: US 2020” in collaboration with Billboard, showing that in the Top Physical Albums in the US in 2020, “NCT #127: Neo Zone” grabbed sixth place with 249,000 copies sold.
During the fan meeting, Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Mark, Jungwoo and Haechan, connected with fans globally to mark NCT 127’s fifth anniversary. The group looked back at some of their favorite past activities and they held a virtual talk show, games, and performance of some of their past hits.
“Congratulations on the fifth anniversary. Congratulations! Happy birthday!” said Taeil.
Doyoung said, “I’ve had so much fun putting together this fan meeting. It was so fun singing with NCTzen.”
“We didn’t have a lot of chances to meet you like this. It’s been so long. I was so happy to communicate with you today. How did you like ‘Music, Dance’? We are celebrating the fifth anniversary with you. Hope we build more memories together. Our studio album will be released soon,” said Jungwoo.
At the fan meeting, NCT 127 unveiled for the first time their performance of “Music, Dance,” a song in the album “NCT 2020 Resonance Pt. 1.”
“I have been so grateful for your support for the past five years and let’s stick together for a long time,” said Jaehyun.
Taeyong said, “It’s been a long time since we shared our feelings like this. I felt emotional listening to the sounds from the speakers. Though we could not meet in person, I am glad we spent some time together like this.”
“Can’t believe it has been five yeras since we debuted. When we look back on these moments, I hope we feel happy,” said Yuta.
Mark commented, “I am grateful for having this chance. We have a lot more in store for you. We will keep working hard. Thank you guys for tuning in.”
Haechan said, “It’s been a long time since we spent time with NCTzen. I am sad we can’t meet on the fifth anniversary. It is such a meaningful occasion. Look forward to our studio album.”
“Today feels like another beginning. Thank you everybody for tuning in today. We had a great time. It’s nice to see you,” said Johnny.
