LOOK: Oriental Mindoro now has its own travel app

Travel Oriental Mindoro mobile application and website make travel easier and more convenient for tourists

ALL IN ONE APP In an attempt to help the local tourism industry bounce back, the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM) came up with a travel app.

With all the travel restrictions imposed due to COVID-19, even traveling to local destinations has become challenging because of the different guidelines and protocols imposed by each local government unit (LGU) of your chosen destination.

To help tourists discover Oriental Mindoro and receive the latest travel updates from this area, the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro (PGOM) has teamed up with the Department of Tourism (DOT) Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) in the launch of Travel Oriental Mindoro mobile application and website.

Welcome to the hidden gem of the South

Unknown to many, aside from having the Puerto Galera Beach, Oriental Mindoro has a lot more to offer. This province takes pride with its white sand beaches, clear blue waters, coral reefs in varied colors, cool rushing rivers, hidden waterfalls, and lush green forests covering majestic mountains. Some of the must-visit sites are the Mount Halcon, Tukuran Falls, and Big La Laguna Beach. And soon, visitors can enjoy the Mindoro Biodiversity Conservation Center (MBCC).

For those who are into festivities, every November 15th, the province is holding the Mahal Tana Festival. This is an event that showcases the its culture, history, and religion.

Launching the said mobile application and website is one of the PGOM’s efforts to help the local tourism bounce back. Like any other tourist destinations, they too were badly hit by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The app and website are powered by ITDC Systems Development Services. These digital innovations serve as an easy-to-use platform that will help users find up-to-date information from accommodations, tourists spots, and festivals to watch out for.
