As face-to-face graduation rites are still not allowed due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the University of Santo Tomas (UST) thought of a creative way to send off their graduating students.

The Class of 2021 Thomasians will celebrate their graduation with a virtual march through UST Minecraft’s online recreation of the Arch of the Centuries.
The Baccalaureate Mass will be held on July 23 at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, the send-off proper, which will start at 5 p.m., will be followed by a virtual exit through the Arch of the Centuries via the UST Minecraft server at 6 p.m.
There will be live broadcast of the event through UST’s official Facebook page.
In 2020, the university conducted a virtual campus tour to freshmen through Minecraft.
The 21.5-hectare UST campus was reconstructed by a team of around 80 students in Minecraft, a video game where players can build and explore things made by other players.
