Soul singer Jaya was emotional as she bid ABS-CBN goodbye to return to the US with her family.
During a segment on "It's Showtime" on July 3, Jaya said she was honored privileged to work with the Kapamilya Network.
"Noong lumipat ako sa ABS-CBN, kayo ang tumanggap sa akin. I am going to leave with a heavy heart, but I am happy, and I have the honor and privilege to work with very excellent hosts that truly accepted and love me. I love you with all my heart.
"I might be old to say I know a lot, but I know nothing because you have shown me excellence in everything that you do.
"Ako nagpapasalamat ako sa Panginoon dito niya ako dinala so Lord thank you for this opportunity.
"Showtime, Tawag ng Tanghalan, ABC-CBN, my heart is with you because you've helped so many people not only in the public, even me na namayagpag kahit sandali.
"I pray that when this station opens up, pagabalik ko, sana tanggapin n'yo pa rin ako. Sa lahat ng Kapamilya, salamat sa honor and the privilege," said Jaya.
Vice Ganda said: "Mahal na mahal ka namin sobra. Mahal na mahal ka namin bilang ka trabaho at bilang kaibigan."
Kim Chiu said: "Thank you Miss Jaya we love you!"
In March, Jaya revealed that she will return to the US after going through several hardships in the Philippines the past year.
“Naramdaman ko lang na nag-focus ako sa isang bagay na hindi ko alam, nalulungkot na pala ako, natatakot, at nadi-depress. I started to lose weight. Hindi ko na-anticipate na hindi na pala ako kumakain nang tama o tamang oras, o nag-one meal a day lang ako. Hindi ko yun napansin,” she said. "Sa likod ng utak ko, parang, ‘teka ... anong nangyayari? Nakakulong tayo, wala tayong work, at may asawa kang nagkasakit, paano yung mga bata?’”
Jaya said that her husband and stepson have left for the US on Jan. 7.
“They were able to find a job 22 hours later and they were able to find a home to rent na ang laki-laki, ang ganda-ganda na parang, pwede ba nating bilhin yun someday? Hindi naman binebenta … but you know, He provides,” she added.
