Korean actor Song Joong-ki is now under self-quarantine after his acquaintance tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

As a result, the 35-year-old star of the drama “Vincenzo” stopped filming the movie “Bogota” as well as the entire production.

The actor’s agency, History D&C, issued a statement on July 2 to say that “on June 30, an acquaintance of actor Song Joong-ki was contacted and told that they had been confirmed to be positive for COVID-19, he immediately stopped all schedule and went with preemptive testing.”

It said Song Joong-ki tested negative for COVID-19 but since he was classified as a close contact of his acquaintance, he was advised to undergo self-quarantine.

“Therefore, we will suspend all scheduled activities and continue to follow all instructions of the quarantine authorities,” it added.

The production side of the film “Bogota” also issued a statement regarding Song Joong-ki’s situation.

“The film ‘Bogota’ has been filming safely by doing everything to prevent COVID-19 and personal hygiene,” it said.

It added that after it was confirmed that Song Joong-ki recently came in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 positive person, he underwent voluntary testing and the result was negative.

After the production team of “Bogota” became aware of Song Joong-ki’s coming in contact with the positive person, the filming was cancelled for the day and all are being tested.

Filming for “Bogota’ will be stopped until it is determined that the health and safety of actors and field staff are ensured.
