Manila Archbishop Jose Cardinal Advincula said Bishop Broderick Pabillo deserves his appointment as Vicar Apostolic of Taytay in Palawan as he is a very capable leader.
The newly installed Manila prelate cited how Pabillo did well as auxiliary bishop and apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Manila.
"Bp. Broderick, you deserve to be given such ministry after a job well done as auxiliary bishop and as apostolic administrator of the Archdiocese of Manila," Advincula said during the Pope's Day Mass at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, Monday, June 29.
"The long applause intended for you in this cathedral last June 24 and even this evening was not only a confirmation of everyone's appreciation for your sacrifice and for managing with compassion and wisdom our archdiocese for 16 months, but also an affirmation of your capability to lead and guide a diocese or an apostolic vicariate after the example of Jesus our Good Shepherd," he added.
"With my best wishes, I assure you of my orayers for a fruitful mission in the church of Taytay," Advincula said.
Popr Francis appointed Pabillo as Vicar Apostolic of Taytay, Tuesday, June 29.
His appointment came days after Advincula was formally installed as the 33rd Archbishop of Manila.
