K-pop boy band Seventeen make their first appearance on the Billboard 200 chart in six years since debuting in 2015.

Billboard announced on June 28 that Seventeen’s new album “Your Choice” debuted at No. 15 on the July 3-dated chart.

The chart “is based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.”

“Your Choice” was released on June 18 and it garnered 1,364,127 copies in sales in its first week.

According to Korea’s Hanteo Chart, “Your Choice” sold 881,788 copies on the first day on June 18 followed by 70,593 on June 19; 22,432 on June 20th; 170,631 on June 21; 111,435 on June 22; 46,094 on June 23; and 61,154 on June 24.

With this, Seventeen surpassed the previous first-week sales of their last album “Semicolon,” which had 932,054 copies.

Hanteo added that “Your Choice” is Seventeen’s second million-seller following the first-week sales of 1,097,891 copies for “Heng:garae.”

“Your Choice” now placed fourth among first-week sales records of all time, making Seventeen the second group in the ranking after BTS.

On June 29, Pledis Entertainment announced “the resumption of SEVENTEEN’s promotional activities for their 8th mini-album.”

“The members of Seventeen were determined by health authorities to have come into close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case, and underwent mandatory self-quarantine from the night of Saturday, June 19 to noon, Tuesday, June 29,” it explained.

It added, “All the artists received negative results on their initial COVID-19 tests and exhibited no symptoms as they dutifully carried out their self-quarantine; the results of the PCR tests that were conducted before the end of quarantine at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 29 also indicated that all the members were negative for COVID-19. With the mandatory quarantine concluded, Seventeen will resume their activities for their 8th mini-album beginning today.”
