Pope appoints Pabillo as Vicar Apostolic of Taytay


Pope Francis on Tuesday, June 29, appointed Bishop Broderick S. Pabillo as Vicar Apostolic of Taytay in Palawan.

Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles Brown announced Pabillo's appointment at the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, where he presided the Pope's Day Mass.

"Allow me please to announce to you that today, Pope Francis has appointed His Excellency Bp. Broderick Pabillo as Apostolic Vicar of Taytay," he said.

"The Holy Father is asking you to take on a new and challenging mission in Palawan," added Brown.

Pabillo is currently serving as Auxiliary Bishop of Manila.

Aside from Pabillo, the Nuncio also announced the appointment of Father Noel Pedregosa as Bishop of Malaybalay.

"Today, Pope Francis also named a new bishop of the Diocese of Malaybalay, Msgr. Noel Pedregosa," said Brown.

"We congratulate Msgr. Pedregosa and we promise him the support of our prayers as he begins his mission in Bukidnon," he added.
