The virtual turnover event on Tuesday, 29, was attended by PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Senator Richard Gordon, PRC Secretary General Elizabeth Zavalla, the Board of Directors of PRC Batangas Chapter, the Mayor of Batangas City Hon. Beverley Dimacuha, the President of the Rotary Club of Metro Batangas Atty. Roel Garcia., Rotary Club Officers and international partners.

“We from the Red Cross are indeed elated and very grateful for the support of Rotary Club of Metro Batangas and Rotary International,” Gordon said, noting that the newly-donated multi-purpose truck will function as a mobile clinic.

“The new truck is very beneficial in this time of the pandemic but will also be very useful even after the pandemic ends as the Chapter plans to use it as a mobile blood donation clinic,” Gordon explained.

PRC said that the new multi-purpose truck will have four functions.

First is to support the Molecular Laboratory as a venue for mobile swabbing and saliva collection.

It will also be used to utilize and augment the local government unit (LGU) in its coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination efforts.

The multi-purpose truck will also be mobilized for medical missions.

Lastly, PRC said that the truck will also be used for mobile blood donation.
