Four feast masses will be celebrated Tuesday, June 29, at the Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Poblacion, Makati City, in solemn observance of the joint feast day of the pillars of the Catholic Church – Saints Peter and Paul, traditionally celebrated by the Roman Catholic Church as Pope’s Day.

Newly installed Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula will celebrate the high mass at 10 a.m. Holy Masses will also be held at 6 a.m., 8 a.m., and at 6 p.m. All the masses will be available online. Thirty percent of the church’s seating capacity will be allowed to observe physical distancing.

Church rites will include prayers for the intentions of the Holy Father Pope Francis.

“The observance of Pope’s Day in celebration of the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul seeks to intensify the faithful’s understanding of the Church’s teachings and to have full appreciation of the spiritual leadership of the Catholic Church’s leader and Vicar of Christ,” Church officials said.

Saint Peter was the first Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church, while Saint Paul is considered to this day as the greatest missionary of all time.
