Paranaque LGU administers 190,290 COVID-19 jabs

The Paranaque City government administered a total of 190,290 COVID-19 vaccinations from March 5 to June 23, representing 21% of the 894,000 target population.

City Administrator Fernando Soriano, who represented Mayor Edwin Olivarez during the Philippine Graphics and Business Mirror webinar on “Vaccine Hesitancy: Epekto sa Buhay, Epekto sa Bayan”, said the city government is targeting to inoculate 60% of the 894,000, which is equivalent to 446,923 individuals, for the city government to achieve herd immunity by November.

Soriano said the city government managed to inoculate 5,435 individuals a day and the number continued to grow up to 6,700 in the past few weeks.

He said the average may continue to increase once the vaccines they have procured, 50,000 Sinovac and 200,000 AstraZeneca, arrive in the city in the next two months.

The city administrator said of the total 190,290 individuals who received the vaccines, 33,305 belong to the economic frontliners or the A4 category.

Soriano said the city government has not seen any vaccine hesitancy in the city as he cited the long lines at their vaccination sites at Ayala Malls, SM Sucat, SM BF, and SM Bicutan.
