Data from the Department of Health (DOH)-Region 6 showed that 5,002 people recovered from COVID-19 from June 18 to June 24.
The DOH Region 6 also noted that June 24 had the highest number of COVID-19 recoveries in one day with 1,067. The day prior or last June 23, there were 1,007 recoveries.
This was a welcome development as the region comprised of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod have all experienced a surge in COVID cases since the beginning of June.
As of June 24, 49,825 have recovered from COVID-19 since late March 2020 when the pandemic began.
Negros Occidental province had the highest number of cumulative recoveries with 15,751. It is followed by Bacolod City with 10,118 cumulative recoveries.
