K-pop girl group Lovelyz’s member Seo Ji Soo has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), resulting in the cancellation of activities of other members.

Woollim Entertainment announced on June 23 that Seo Ji Soo was confirmed to be positive for the virus in the morning of June 22.

"On the afternoon of June 21, we received notice that a nearby person was confirmed to have been diagnosed with COVID-19, so we conducted a preemptive test, and on the morning of June 22, we confirmed it,” it said.

The agency said other Lovelyz members and staff, who are classified as close contacts, got tested on June 22 and went into self-quarantine.

Baby Soul, Jiae, Mijoo, Jin, Sujeong and Yein have tested negative for the virus so far and Kei’s results have yet to be released. However, even if they test negative, they are still required to undergo self-quarantine for two weeks since they are classified as close contacts.

As a result, all the activities of the members have been cancelled. Mijoo is a regular cast member of the Korean TV show “Sixth Sense.” She was scheduled to act as a special DJ on the radio program “Cultwo Show” but it was cancelled.

Kei also cancelled her appearance in the musical “Midnight Sun” in which she was scheduled to perform on June 26 and July 3.
