Vivant bags Cebu bulk water supply deal

Vivant Corporation’s wholly-owned subsidiary Vivant Hydrocore Holdings Inc. (VHHI) has bagged a 25-year Bulk Water Supply Agreement awarded by the Metropolitan Cebu Water District (MCWD).

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Vivant said MCWD concluded a successful bid for the Cordova Bulk Water Supply Project through a solicited proposal with VHHI as the private sector proponent and Watermatic Philippines Corporation (WMP) as its technical partner.

The Vivant Group will sign a Joint Venture Agreement with MCWD to govern the relationship of the parties as joint venture partners.

VHHI will build a utility scale desalination plant that will augment the limited bulk water supply of MCWD by twenty thousand cubic meters (20,000 cu.m) per day of treated and potable water.

“We’re proud that our subsidiary, Vivant Hydrocore, has been awarded the contract to supply desalinated water to MCWD for 25 years,” Vivant Corporation said.

It added that, “Vivant Hydrocore commits to provide an efficient and reasonably priced solution that will help improve MCWD’s water supply.”

This investment in bulk water supply is a key milestone for the Vivant group to deliver on its promise to provide forward-looking and adaptable solutions to improve everyday living in Metro Cebu.

“The project is the Vivant Group’s contribution to MCWD’s efforts to find an integrated solution to Metro Cebu’s water needs,” the firm said.

It noted that, “Water is not only essential to Metro Cebu’s economy, but is also vital to the health and overall well-being of the community, particularly amid our collective efforts to manage the spread of the COVID-19 virus.”

VHHI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vivant Infracore Holdings Inc., which is in turn wholly-owned by Vivant Corporation. VHHI holds the Vivant group’s water infrastructure investment portfolio.
