All courts in the City of Manila, including the Supreme Court (SC) and the Court of Appeals (CA), will have no work on Thursday, June 24, the 450th founding anniversary of the city.
In an announcement, the SC said:
“In view of Proclamation No. 1167, declaring Thursday, 24 June 2021, a Special (Non-Working) Day in the City of Manila, there will be no work in all courts in the City of Manila.”
Proclamation 1167 was signed and issued by Executive Secretary Salvador last Monday, June 21, by authority of President Duterte.
“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to community quarantine, social distancing, and other public health measures,” the proclamation stated.
