Accessories designer Irene Pineda passes away at 46

Irene Pineda, the designer known for handmade accessories sold at her store Irene’s Closet, died on June 17, 2021 at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City. The passing was announced on social media by her brother, fashion photographer Paolo Pineda. She was 46.

“Our beloved and eldest sister Irene passed away today, June 14, 2021, after 14 years of fighting an incurable, complex and complicated illness,” he posted. “To our dead Ai, wherever you may be right now, always remember that we love you very much and we will miss you forever. May we request you all, our relatives and friends, to remember Irene in your prayers.”

According to the post, it was revealed that Irene suffered from multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is a disabling disease that affects the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. The condition can cause problems with vision, sensation, body movement, and more.
