The targeted vaccine recipients are part of the A4 category of the government’s vaccine prioritization list. The A4 category is composed of essential workers in transportation sector, restaurants, retail stores, and markets, among others.

Vice President Leni Robredo, in a Facebook post, said the inoculation of the drivers and riders will be from June 22 to 23.

Robredo is also calling for volunteer doctors and nurses who can help in vaccinating the intended recipients.

“We are thankful for all the volunteer doctors and nurses, including from our Bayanihan E-Konsulta initiative, who already signed up to join us on-site for this effort. We need some more doctors and nurses so we can vaccinate as many as possible at the shortest possible time,” she said.

The vice president added that this “first roll-out” will target tricycle drivers, pedicab drivers, and even delivery riders.

Those who are interested to join the project will be deployed to a Manila vaccination site. OVP and the Manila city government are filling up the slots “on a first-come, first-served basis.”

Robredo posted the different shifts divided into four-hour intervals from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. The same schedule will be followed the next day.

The links to the sign-up sheet for volunteer doctors and nurses are posted on the vice president’s Facebook page.

Once referred to as the Jab Cab, the program aims to bring the vaccines to areas in Manila where the hesitancy to get a vaccine is high. It also wants to provide a hassle-free way for the drivers and conductors to get inoculated seeing as they may not have the time to go to Manila’s 19 vaccine centers to get their jabs.
