Filipino fans of K-pop superstars BTS have done it again.

BTS ARMYs in the Philippines donated the popular BTS Meal of McDonald’s to the homeless, gave a donation to a Foodpanda rider and provided vegetables to families in the province of Albay.

YouTuber Tobi Vlogs, who is also a Grab rider, posted on Facebook, “Grabe yung saya at pagod kanina. Saya kasi nakapag abot tayo ng bts meal sa homeless and na share natin sa ibang army yung meal (I felt happy and tired earlier. Happy because we gave BTS Meal to the homeless and shared the meal with other ARMY).” He said two BTS ARMYs send money to him so he can enjoy the meal and share it with others.

This was made possible through JinHit Entertainment PH, a local fanbase of BTS member Jin. The admin of the Facebook page said they found Tobi Vlogs among a group of Grab drivers who defended BTS in a post.

“I couldn’t distribute foods outside given my situation so I sent him a message if it’s ok for him to distribute BTS meals to anyone he meets along the way. He didn’t hesitate. I’m super thankful to you and your wife for the effort from lining up at McDonald’s to sharing BTS meals. Kudos!!!!!!! May you have more (Grab) bookings. I’m not good with words but thank you from the bottom of my heart!” JinHit Entertainment PH wrote.

In addition, Foodpanda rider Benjamin Baetiong received a generous donation of P45,000 from BTS ARMYs for his kindness.

When the BTS Meal was launched in the Philippines last June 18, there were some negative comments by delivery riders from Grab Philippines against BTS and the meal that angered BTS ARMYs in the country. Grab Philippines immediately acted and suspended the riders.

Baetiong was praised by fans for his positive comment about delivering the BTS Meal.

“Lakas ng BTS meal ngaun. Umaarangkada na.. kme mga Foodpanda rides.. masayang dedeliver sa inyo ang bts meal.. kya mga bts fans.. dyn.. gogogogo na order na kyo (BTS Meal is popular. We as Foodpanda rides are now delivering it. We are happy to deliver the BTS Meal to you. So order now),” he posted on Facebook.

On June 20, BTS ARMYs met Baetiong to give him the donation and he told fans, “Salamat po ng sobra ty ty ty (Thank you so much. Ty ty ty).”

The donation drive was spearheaded by Twitter account @therealkittenwp and the amount was raised through the generosity of BTS ARMYs.

“I hope that this would also become an awareness to others, that a little kindness and respect goes a long way, and that you will be rewarded with every good deed. Thank you to everyone, to all the sponsors, donations and the lessons that we learned tonight,” according to a Twitter post by @therealkittenwp.

It added, “This event wouldn’t be successful without all your help. This will forever be engraved in my memory, a story I would proudly tell in the future. That once, all of humanity was united and the twitter stan world was at peace, for a cause. It all started with a simple gesture, an act of kindness and a purpose to give back to a person who is indeed a rare gem in a society full of stereotyping and negativity.”

On the other hand, the ARMY Bayanihan, ARMY Cavite Fanbase and BTS ARMY Albay donated 1.1 tons of crops to Camalig and Tiwi in Albay for their “MiCasa: Pagtulong sa mga Tahanan” project.

The project originated as a donation drive effort to help in the rehabilitation of houses and livelihood of families in Albay by giving away roofs as well as vegetables.

“Congratulations for the successful project, @army_cavite & @ARMYBayanihan. Thank you for trusting us with this project and most especially to all the generous ARMYs, thank you, maraming salamat po sa inyo,” BTS ARMY Albay tweeted.

ARMY Cavite Fanbase also posted, “Congrats to us @ARMYAlbay and @ARMYBayanihan, we are very proud and happy for this successful project!”

The vegetables, worth P45,250, were sourced from Cagayan and Camarines Sur farmers. These include ampalaya, sitaw, pechay, onion, garlic and cabbage.

Other beneficiaries of the vegetable donation project are the Bahay Kanlungan Shelter for Children (Sexually Abused) Laguna and Sagip BatamPalengke Community Pasig.
