On the celebration of Father’s Day on Sunday, June 20, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) urged all lawyers to set the example in nurturing families.
“Our faith, culture, tradition, and laws honor and task fathers to be the head of the family,” said IBP President Domingo Egon Q. Cayosa in a statement.
“As we celebrate this privilege may Filipino lawyers lead in maintaining a deep sense of responsibility among fathers and parents to nurture a stable God-fearing, law-abiding and loving family; developing faith, values and discipline starts with the family,” he said.
No one else should be relied upon in this this job, he said, as he pointed out that “it cannot and should not be completely passed on to the government, churches, schools, or other institutions.”
“Social establishments or their leaders may falter or fail but as long as fathers responsibly lead their families and effectively recognize and engage their worthy partners, our nation and society shall endure and prosper,” he stressed.
