BuCor conducts ‘surprise drug test’ of personnel

Bureau of Corrections

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) conducted a surprise drug test of 73 randomly selected personnel last Friday, June 18.

“All results yielded negative for the presence of methamphetamine hydrochloride and marijuana metabolite,” BuCor said in a statement issued Sunday, June 20.

The surprise drug test was conducted by the BuCor’s Directorate for Health and Welfare Service headed by Corrections Chief Supt. Henry N. Fabro.

BuCor said the activity is part of the government’s ongoing fight against illegal drugs.

“In consonance with the mandate of President Duterte against the use of illegal drugs, BuCor Director General Gerald Q. Bantag supports the promotion of a drug- free workplace in all government offices, officials and personnel of the Bureau of Corrections,” it said.
