A total of 160 public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers and operators attended the launching of the “Tsuper Iskolar” program of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and the “Libreng Sakay” project in Malolos, Bulacan on Friday, June 18.
Secretary Arthur Tugade and Assistant Secretary Banoy Lopez of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) congratulated the attendees.
Also present during the launch were Governor Daniel R. Fernando, LTFRB chairman Atty. Martin Delgra III, LTFRB Region III director Ahmed Cuizon, and Malolos City Mayor Gilbert “Bebong” Gatchalian.
Fernando said the “Tsuper Iskolar” program is a support mechanism component of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP).
The program aims to give the public utility drivers and their family members free training to fully understand the modernization program and its benefits.
Meanwhile, during the launch of the “Libreng Sakay” (free ride), a fully air-conditioned modern PUV went around the Bulacan hospitals and picked up the health workers.
