PSA rolls out Philsys step 2 national ID registration at SM Baliwag


The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) rolled out the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Step 2 registration at SM City Baliwag which is one of its mall registration partners in Bulacan.

Veronica B. Cunan, SM Baliwag public relations officer, said that from June 16 onwards registrants with appointment slips or Application Reference Number (ARN) who were notified by the PSA via text message may proceed to the PhilSys Registration Center located at the second level, Cyberzone area of SM City Baliwag.

Cunan said to guide the public on the registration process, SM City Baliwag and PSA have deployed detailed signages showing a systematic procedure for the smooth and orderly manner of registration. PhilSys Step 2 registration process includes validation of appointment slip and supporting documents, verification of demographic information, capturing of biometric information such as iris-scan, fingerprint, and front-facing photo, and issuance of the transaction slip.

She said that after completing Step 2 Registration, registrants will be given a PhilSys Number (PSN). PhilID will be delivered to the registrant’s chosen address via Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost). To ensure public safety, SM City Baliwag, in partnership with PSA, adheres to the strict implementation of the standard health and safety protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases and The Department of Health.

Registrants will be requested to observe a safe distance especially when queuing. Temperature checks upon entry, the mandatory wearing of face mask, and strictly no appointment, no entry will likewise be implemented. SM City Baliwag also assigned a security and disinfection team for crowd management and in maintaining sanitation protocols.

PhilSys aims to provide valid and unique proof of identification to all Filipinos to make public and private transactions fast and more convenient. As such, citizens will be entitled to improved access to government services such as health, education, financial and social protection.

PhilSys Step 2 Registration at SM City Baliwag will last for a year, and targets to accommodate at least 250 registrants per day. Registrants may register online through https://register.philsys.gov.ph/ prior to Step 2 registration. Following SM City Baliwag, Philippine Statistics Authority has yet to announce the date of PhilSys Step 2 Registration at SM Center Pulilan, one of its assigned registration centers in the first district of Bulacan.
