Wearing face shield outdoors could soon be a thing of the past. President Duterte has decided in favor of the mandatory use of shields only in hospitals, which the Palace declared, will become a "policy."

The Department of Health however still intends to appeal the President's decision, citing the need for people to keep using the face shields especially in enclosed public spaces.
