Zamboanga receives first batch of Pfizer vaccines

More than 63,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines representing the 13th batch arrived in Zamboanga last Tuesday, June 15.

Dr. Manolo Alpichi, DOH-9 Assistant Regional Director, said the vaccines include 35,100 doses of Pfizer shots, the first batch of this type of vaccine to arrive in Zamboanga City.

The delivery also includes 28,000 shots of Sinovac vaccine.

Pfizer vaccines arrive in Zamboanga

The Pfizer vaccines were immediately brought to the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) for storage in the ultra low freezer facility.

Zamboanga City also has an ultra low freezer facility at a molecular laboratory within the city proper.

All Pfizer shots were given to Zamboanga due to the presence of storage facilities vital to the preservation of the vaccine doses.

At present, Zamboanga Peninsula region has received 289,440 doses of Covid-19 vaccines.
