The 2021 CCP National Rondalla workshop is calling for individual applications

Marking the sixth National Rondalla Workshop, the Artist Division of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) announced that the workshop, that has been known to be open to just group applications, is calling for individual applications for conductors and instrumentalists in response to popular demand.

For the first time since 2014, the said workshop will be held online, via Zoom, from July 27 to 31, 2021. It will be led by Elaine Juliet Espejo of the Celso Espejo Rondalla and the UP Rondalla, also a faculty member of the UP College of Music. The workshop trainers’ aim is for young musicians to reach and realize their full potential as rondalla performers, especially in this online set-up.

Section rehearsals per rondalla instrument, note reading sessions, and individual rondalla ensemble cliniquing sessions are just some of the events that are included in the workshop modules. Everything will be culminated and streamed in an online recorded performance via the CCP Facebook page on Saturday, Aug 21, 2021.
