Dynamite explosion kills 4 in Masbate

CAMP OLA, Albay – Four persons were killed while seven others sustained injuries in a dynamite explosion which occured in a residential house owned by a village chief in Brgy. Pajo, Balud town, Masbate province, Tuesday afternoon, June 15.

Police Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo, director of Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) said  the incident happened around 1:15 p.m. at the house of Brgy. Captain Lina Recto, himself a casualty of the incident.

The other datalities were also identified as Mac-Mac Dela Cruz, Ronelyn Bulala and Aisa Sese who were almost unrecognizable due to the impact of the explosion.

Injured were identified as John Paul, 12; Chris, 7; Ivan Mahilum, 20; Junvin Badahos, 24; Tessie Badahos, 59; Leonard Amistoso, 42 and Ruel Henticay Chavez, 26.

The victimrs were brought to Balud Municipal Hospital for wherr they received immediate medical attention, Estomo said.

Investigation is still ongoing as of press time.
