PBA star June Mar Fajardo paid homage to one of his basketball idols Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets for bagging the NBA Most Valuable Player award over the week.
Taking it to his gaming social media channel AHOSgaming, Fajardo posted a series of photos that featured Jokic and another gentle giant in Boban Marjanovic of the Dallas Mavericks.
The 31-year-old Cebuano center also shared throwback photos of him and Serbia’s Jokic playing against each other during the group stage of the 2019 FIBA World Cup at the GBA International Sports and Cultural Center in Foshan, China.
Serbia routed Gilas Pilipinas in that game, 126-67.

“Congrats to one of my idols Nikola “The Joker” Jokić for bagging the NBA MVP this season! As the lowest draft pick to ever win an MVP, you prove to us that hard work pays off. Well deserved!” wrote Fajardo with a couple of clapping emojis.
The eight-time PBA champion was all smiles after flexing the customized shoes he wore during the FIBA meet and thanked the newly hailed NBA MVP for the prized signature.
Meanwhile, Jokic and the Nuggets are currently behind 3-0 against semifinal contender Phoenix Suns. Game 4 will resume on Monday, June 14.
