An advisory from the DPWH said that the affected portions of these two roads will be closed starting 11 p.m. Friday, June 11. The country will celebrate its 123rd Independence Day tomorrow, Saturday, June 12.

Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said that the DPWH–National Capital Region (NCR) will conduct repair activities on the northbound directions of EDSA, near Kaingin Road in Quezon City; and from K0010+(-942)-K0010+666 in Caloocan City.

Reblocking activities will also be undertaken on the northbound directions of C5, from after Rosa Alvero, fifth lane from sidewalk; before P. Tuazon, third lane from sidewalk; and before Rajah Matanda, third lane from sidewalk.

These road sections will be reopened at 5 a.m. Monday, June 14.

Motorists are advised to take alternate routes due to the expected traffic build-up in the affected areas.

The weekend road works had been cleared by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Villar said.
