The NBA Sixth Man of the Year helps the food truck get its new patriotic look.
A Filipino-owned food truck in Utah, USA was vandalized with Asian hate comments last weekend. But with lots of support from the local community and our fellow Filipino-American NBA Sixth Man of the Year Jordan Clarkson, the racist graffiti didn’t stop the World Famous Yum Yum Food Truck from sharing our food culture.
Few days later, from its old look of plain black with red linings and our flag’s sun in white paint as its only exterior design, the food truck that serves Filipino food and Asian fusion was transformed bearing the Philippine flag.
On its Facebook page, Yum Yum Food Truck expressed their gratitude to all who have shown their love and support, especially to Utah Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson and Dan of Identity graphics who created the new look.
“We want to thank everyone individually in a couple of weeks when we have our love celebration in the park and feed the community... Love prevails. We are going to have our grand reopening this Saturday at the Philippine Independence Day celebration in SLC (South Lake City),” wrote in the post.
Jordan Clarkson also expressed on Twitter how he got affected by the incident. “It hurt me deeply to see that Salt Lake’s @yumyumasian food truck was recently vandalized – I know the pain that hateful language and racism causes,” he tweeted.

In a recent tweet, the pro-baller said that he stood “in solidarity with Utah’s Filipino community – love is more powerful than hate!”

The World Famous Yum Yum Food Truck thanked Jordan once more for not just giving the food truck a new look, but also having it detailed. They said on Facebook that “it means the world to the community and to us.”
