ZAMBOANGA CITY – The recovery rate from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) here has climbed to 85.27 percent as of Monday, with 283 new survivors raising the total to 9,058.

Four days earlier, the city COVID-19 tracker showed a recovery rate of 80.20.

Out of 10,622 confirmed cases, the city still has 1,122 active cases with 442 deaths recorded since March last year.

Among the total recoveries, 8,070 were from communities; 351 locally stranded individuals; 144 authorized persons outside residence; 349 detainees; 67 from the Bureau of Corrections; 49 jail personnel; 25 returning overseas Filipinos; and three returning residents from Malaysia.

“As the cases in Zamboanga City seem to be decreasing, we in the city government are not resting,” she said in a statement.
